Instrument Donations to INFM

Music education can help spark a child’s imagination or ignite a lifetime of passion. When you provide a child with new worlds to explore and challenges to tackle, the possibilities are endless. Music education should not be a privilege for a lucky few, it should be a part of every child’s world of possibility.
— Hillary Clinton

Did you know that in addition to monetary donations, we also accept donations of used instruments and accessories like strings, bows, instrument cases, lesson books and stands?

Donating musical instruments to If Not for Music (INFM) is a valuable way for us to give the Gift of Music to aspiring musicians who wouldn’t have the opportunity to explore musical opportunities otherwise.

What happens Next?

After instruments are donated, we partner with Taylor’s Music Store and Studios who helps our team assess and, if warranted, refurbish donated instruments. We then identify how best to distribute each instrument to young musicians who need it most.

This quarter we received a Yamaha electronic keyboard thanks to the generosity of Julie Elicker, which is now available to students through our partnership with the Mattock School of Music in Chadds Ford, PA. Other recent donations include a fully refurbished flute, lesson book and accessories given by Claire Misko, two guitars from Mike Elkins, another donated by Erin Sutton-Beals, and a trumpet, stand and instrument case given by Louise Birmingham. These join earlier donations of violin strings and bows courtesy of Christophe Landon Rare Violins in New York City. The total value of these instruments and accessories exceeds $3500 and offers us a unique way to assist young musicians.

A big THANK YOU to all of you who have donated to us!
