Pop-Up Jazz Concert Brings Family and Friends Together in Support of INFM
On September 22, a pop-up jazz concert to benefit If Not For Music (INFM) was held at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center in West Chester, PA curtsey of the Fisher Family of Delaware and Chester counties in PA.
An exuberant crowd of family and friends heard headliner and Grammy-nominated saxophonist Jesse Snyder, with Matt Chambers on guitar, Bill Dilks on the Hammond B 3 organ, and Jackie Browne on drums rock the house with two sets and an encore performance of classic jazz.
Jesse is son, nephew, cousin and friend to the Fisher family. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, he is living out his dream on the Big Island of Hawaii as a much sought-after musician, performing and recording music. As a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer and vocalist with diverse influences and tastes, his music transcends genre.
The concert celebrated his visit east and gave the family an easy excuse for a reunion and party. “It was wonderful to see so many family and friends, quite moving really,” Jesse said. “It was my pleasure to support the wonderful mission of If Not for Music. What you are doing is so exceptional, needed, and so, so important.”
There was such a positive response to the event that Jesse Snyder and Friends reconvened for an encore performance at the Stottsville Inn in Coatesville, PA on September 29th. Opened to the public, and once again attended by family and friends, the quartet entertained with classic jazz in the spirit of Aloha.
A BIG Mahalo (Thanks you!) from INFM to Jesse and his family for their efforts to support our mission. And a special shout out to musicians Matt, Bill and Jackie!
